People are neural networks

A modern, adult person is more sophisticated than the same person of the past. The abundance of information makes us all a little cynical. This is well demonstrated by Clifford Simak's novel - Ring Around the Sun.

Spoiler alert!

In 1953, the author built a plot around one simple idea - the main character learns that he is not a human but an artificial cyborg. All readers of that time perceived this place painfully because they associated themselves with the main character. However, modern readers pass this moment easily.

You will find a lot of controversy on the Internet about whether a neuron is more complex than its virtual counterparts, but it does not matter. The main thing is that over time we will develop so much that we will not only make an exact copy, but also improve the virtual neuron so that it will surpass the biological one.

You are the gardener of your brain

Realizing this gives us new advantages that not only Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung would envy. Moving away from attempts to "guess" how the brain works gives us more understanding of how we exist, cope with tasks and problems. It became obvious that the brain requires constant work, that synapses respond positively to repetitive signals, that neuroplasticity can erase information like a gardener erases dried branches. All that remains is to subdue these processes and become a conscious gardener of your brain.

The next question is why? Why do something, especially if it is difficult, when you can live your life calmly and lazily...
